Results
After the initial baseline survey of all the sites, survey volunteers were trained annually and matched to individual sites to carried out subsequent year’s surveys. Sites that didn’t have volunteers matched to them were divided up and surveyed by Allen & Mellon, the Project Manager and Donna Rainey, volunteer.
All sites showed signs of improvement within the three survey years, coarse grasses decreasing and fine grasses increasing as well as the increase in the ratio of flowers to grasses. Allen & Mellon assessed the results at two Council park sites, Rasharkin and Joey Dunlop Leisure’s Centre, the full report is below, along with the raw data for all the sites and verge invertebrate records.
